In November 2023, a group of kindred spirits from Minnesota, Wisconsin, and other areas of the Midwest gathered on the ancient soil of Viroqua, nestled in the heart of Wisconsin’s beautiful Driftless region. This first Sovereignty Gathering was an opportunity to build resources, strengthen resiliency and activate the powerful energy sparked by connecting in a like-hearted community on sacred land.
The festivites took place over the weekend of November 4-5. A Welcome Soiree kicked off the event on Friday evening.
On Saturday we gathered for the Main Event, which focused on large and small group circles where we shared knowledge, resources and experiences that empowered us to reclaim agency over our lives and to dream an inspiring new world into existence.
We were honored to have Roy Torgerson, Vernon County, WI Sheriff, speak about the role of the Constitutional Sheriff in the preservation of rights.
Another topic of focus was “sovereignty,” a term that has gained much attention, both positive and negative. Our discussion explored the emotional, mental, physical and spiritual aspects of “being” sovereign and the ways it can be created in the world.
We ended the day around a bonfire with a chili dinner.
On Sunday, we took the opportunity to integrate what we’d learned and shared how we could collectively carve a path toward greater freedom and beauty.
